Listen to the words of Jesus,22 Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” And they launched out. 23 But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. 24And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. 25 But He said to them,”Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!”
Jesus said that they would cross over, so what happened when the storm came? The disciples forgot Jesus’ words.
After calming the storm, Jesus asked them,“where is your faith?”
So is my question to you today, where is your faith?
When in trouble, let us call on to Jesus,He will stop it and bring peace to our lives.
When in pain, let us draw near to God
Pastor Juliet Mahugu reminded us that sometimes the storm rages and it seems like it will never end, HOWEVER it eventually ends. She gave us an example from the book of Acts 27:20 Paul was a prisoner whose life was in danger.
20 Now when neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, and no small tempest beat on us, all hope that we would be saved was finally given up.
Even in Paul’s story,if you read further you will see that Paul eventually called on Jesus,an angel appeared to him and he became confident that he would cross over.
Let’s have hope that we will cross over. The trials and challenges are soon going to go, we will have peace and eventually cross over.
