Prayer-posture,bowing knees

Pastor Prince Obasi Ike praying

This year I have come to realize that there are things we know and read about often in the Bible but we don’t do them. For example, fasting is mentioned so many times in the Bible, but do we fast? Even now when many Churches have been called to fast, are you taking part in your Church praying and fasting program?

Another example is bowing knees to pray. There are many times in the Bible whereby we see people kneeling to pray.

And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”
Luke 22:41‭-‬42 NKJV

And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all. Then they all wept freely, and fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him,

And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God, Ezra 9:5

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.”

So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,. Kings-1 18:42

And it was [so], that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven. 1Kings 8:54

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:14‭-‬19 NKJV

Do you bow your knees to pray? What stopped us from bowing our knees to pray?
