Making Your Home A Haven Bible Study- Week 1,Day 1

This year has been depressing for most people, and more so due to the coronavirus pandemic which has seen many people lose their loved ones,jobs, businesses, lack of freedom etc.

I have not escaped this either.I have been feeling down and low.

Something that has kept me going over the years is studying the word of God.It gives me hope, and inner healing.It strengthens me.It makes me to know that I am not walking this journey of life alone because the Lord who created me is walking with me.

This is why when I heard about the Making Your Home A Haven Bible study, I told myself that I would do it.I t

I am looking forward to a time of getting more closer to God and my ultimate goal is to renew the Joy of my salvation.

We have four fantastic weeks to go.This week we focus on Delighting in the Lord.

Today’s reading,

Philippians 4:4-9

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Week 1 – Challenge

Start a daily gratitude list!

Go buy an extra large candle and light a candle everyday in your home.  Each time the glimmer of the candle catches your eye, let it remind you to say a prayer of thanksgiving and a prayer for peace in your home.
