Calling Things That Are Not, As Though They Were

This far that I have come, the Lord is Ebenezer.I thank God for my life,my family,my friends and my country.Everything I have, its because of the mercies of God.I cannot boast of anything.

However,I am not satisfied with the status quo;I believe I can still get better from my life, family, friends and country.I will have to disturb someone, somethings need to be shaken, someone will lose something,I have to get out of my comfortable zone.

Things that are dead will  rise up because God has power to resurrect dead things back to life.

romans 1-5

This week while studying Romans 1-5, I was so encouraged by the passage below:

Romans 4:16-22

16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”[d]) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”[e] 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”[f

Do you remember the above equation in Mathematics?

For me to get results,I need to have faith, just as father Abraham did.

Then God will use his power to bring back life  into dead situations.Just as he enabled Abraham and Sarah to get a child in their old age,He will do the same for me.Just as He resurrected Jesus Christ from the dead,so he will resurrect some dead situations in my life.

Another thing that I need to do is ask God to forgive me my sins.Reading Romans 1-3 clearly points out that I am a sinner.Only the blood of Jesus Christ can wash away my sins and give me hope of having an everlasting life. I also need to decide to turn away from some bad habits. For me they are, judging others,Romans 2:1-16,and I need to tame my tongue,Romans 3:10-16.What about you,do you have some bad habits you need to turn away from?

To receive answers from God,we have to decide which path to follow,we have to drop some bad habits, then we can expect to receive the Lord’s favor.

I am going to note down the things that are not, as though they were below. Please take a notebook and a pen and note yours too. When I’m done with this writing,I’ll call them out aloud,in other words I will decree and declare.Do the same too.Call out loudly and clearly what you have written down.

Calling Things That Are Not ,As Though They Were.

  • My family is blessed,we are  physically strong ,with good health, and with wisdom. My family is financially stable.
  • My siblings and I have stable marriages .
  • The work of my hands is blessed.
  • My husband is blessed. He is a gift from God and he does not add sorrow to me.I am delighting in the husband of my youth.
  • My children are a gift from the Lord, they are a reward from Him.
          Psalm 127:3
  • My country,Kenya is blessed.Kenya is a peaceful country,it is financially stable.Kenya is a christian nation.Kenyans are straight forward, hardworking, not involved in corruption.Kenya is able to sustain itself.

The journal below is highly recommended, though its optional.

When studying your bible you may want to highlight using the following colors. At Good Morning Girls,we have meanings for different colors. We recommend this practice, because as you highlight, you spend more time in the word of God,thus you meditate more and the word is able to stick in your mind.
