PROV.31This week we have been reading about  Proverbs 31 and concentrating on the Proverbs 31 woman.

Today is our final day of our in-depth study of the Proverbs 31 woman.  If this study has blessed you, I hope you will join us this Monday as we begin our study through the book of Song of Solomon.  This is an 8-day Bible Study.  It begins on August 3rd and ends on August 12th.

Song of Solomon is a divinely, inspired love poem and a celebration of sexual love…yes it’s gonna get a little steamy here next week. Pray for me. Lol!

This Monday you will find all of the resources for our Song of Solomon Study.

Then in the month of September, we will begin reading through the Book of Acts.  The new journal will be released soon!  Watch for details plus something new!

Now, let’s look at today’s reading in Proverbs 31:10-31 and pray and ask the Lord to mold us into the woman He wants us to be:

This is a woman we have heard of from our Churches, homes, fellowships, market place. She is a  well known brand.

I first came across this woman when I was a young girl of  around ten years old.Our dad had taken us upcountry to visit our grandparents during the long December holidays. One day we were seated in the living room with my grandmother, the late Dinah Oriso Olale, she gave me a Bible and told me to open Proverbs  chapter 31.I opened, then she told me to read from verses 10-31.As I was reading,I noticed the verses were talking about a woman, then I thought to myself,”grandma must be wanting me to learn something from this  passage.”As I continued growing,I would hear this woman mentioned once in a while in a Church congregation, fellowships etc. With time I started getting used to her,and even now I am still trying to know her better. So,who is the Proverbs 31

We see in Proverbs 31 verse 1,that she was the kind of woman, that a Queen wished her son,King Lemuel would find and later marry. She asked her son,in Proverbs 31:10,

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Let us look at the meaning of virtue,it means,

behavior showing high moral standards.
“paragons of virtue”
From verses 11-31,she describes the character of this woman..
We see from the above verses that her husband trusts her completely, she is committed to her marriage and only does good things to her husband. She goes to the market to buy quality food, she doesn’t oversleep in the morning, she prepares and serves her household with food. She is hardworking, and is investment minded. She has strong hands and doesn’t mind doing menial household chores. She is caring and welcoming to the poor,Her family is  finely dressed, including herself. She has caused her husband to earn respect and be recognised in the society. She is a businesswoman, and her business is profitable. She minds her household affairs and is not involved in idle sitting/talking.She is confident and has a high self esteem. She talks with wisdom,by considering the effect of her words before uttering them. Her husband and children praise her.She fears the Lord, and deserves praise. Finally,we see that she gets rewarded and praised by the society because of her works.
If this is the character of a woman who is virtuous and godfearing, then as christian ladies,we should emulate her.It may not be possible to accomplish all these characteristics in one day,but its possible to achieve 1/2/3 characters in a day,and hence covering all of them in ones lifetime.
Are there any areas that you are struggling with?Commit the matter to God.He tells us that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.
As we finish this study,I am encouraged to learn that household chores are noble tasks for women, and if done properly brings glory to God.Of late I’ve been trying to handle things, but doing laundry has been the most difficult for me.The next time I see dirty clothes,I will set about my work vigorously;because my arms are strong for my tasks..vs 17.
God bless you as you,
Walk with the King.
