What is quiet time(QT)?

Quite time is regular individual sessions of Bible Study, private meditation, prayer and journaling. It is time that is set apart everyday to listen from God through the Bible and to speak to him through prayer. It is a time of encouragement, strengthening and insight to a christian and spiritual food for a person’s soul.It is a time of personal fellowship with God.

Why do we need to practise quiet time(qt),everyday?

In Mathew 4:4,Jesus said,”Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”Hence the need to study the Bible everyday. The word of God is a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths,it helps us to keep sin far away from us,it heals us,it helps a young person to keep his way pure,Psalms 119.

In 2Tim.2:15,Paul says,”study to show yourself approved unto God,a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. We need to know the word of God accurately so as to teach our children and for evangelism.

Examples of people who had quiet times,

Jesus had many quiet times. He often left the disciples and went up the mountain to have fellowship with God.

Daniel used to pray three times a day.Daniel 6:10

King David used to be a worshipper. He would arise early to seek God,Psalm 5:3

What is the best way to practise QT.?

It is important to make QT. a priority. We can create time for QT. by setting at least 3o minutes to one hour everyday.

The best time is early in the morning because it helps you to be focused on God throughout the day through meditations, praise and worship.

Set a place and time where you can be alone, without any interferences so that you can have complete focus on God.

God bless you ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ™.
